Serve the World

At King Street we believe that it is our duty to be in the community making a difference outside the walls of our church building. Are you looking for an opportunity to reflect Christ through loving people and serving the world? We have some opportunities for you to make a real difference and a few friends along the way.

the refuge

Since 1999, The Refuge has served teens who often feel unseen and unsupported—those facing life without consistent mentors, parents, housing, or direction. Through creative programs and classes like art, music, tech, and their skate park, they offer a safe space that fosters growth, purpose, and character. Every activity is designed to help young people become strong, compassionate men and women.

Please note: the Refuge requires a minimum 6 month commitment to ensure the youth can build relationship, and that a criminal record check to be completed.

Rose of durham, OSHAWA

Each year, Rose of Durham serves more than 350 young parents from across the Durham Region. Rose of Durham believes that when parents are at their best, their children will be raised in an environment where they can develop positive mental health. They are seeking volunteers to serve in a number of roles at “the Rose” such as child minding, share & care room or lunch coordinators, and our bingo fundraising.
