Christmas at King
A time to give, serve and invite.
This Christmas, let’s come together to make a difference. It’s a season to give, to gather, and to share the joy of Jesus with others. By including the under-resourced in your holiday giving, you can help extend the love and hope of Christ to those in need. You can give online or mark your envelope “Christmas at King” if giving in person.
Opportunities to Give
WOW ‘Wrap up a Bicycle’ ($3000)
Again, this year, the focus is on providing bicycles for their team of volunteers who provide home based care for dying orphans and widows in Zambia and Malawi. These special people sometimes walk up to 8 hours per day to minister to their patients. A bicycle helps reduce that travel time by 80%. Goal: 10 bicycles x $300 = $3000
Gate 3:16 ($3000)
This is a drop-in centre for people ages 24 and up who are needing help in some area of their life. Whether it be looking for a hot meal, some extra encouragement through counselling or resources for various health issues, they are there. We are excited to be supporting them this year through the various contributions.
Angel Tree ($700)
Angel Tree provides an opportunity to extend the hope of the Gospel through the purchase of and delivery of Christmas gifts on behalf of incarcerated parents. This year we hope to provide gifts for 20 children.
Pregnancy Help Centre ($800)
Our partnership will help to provide Christmas gift bags for the various families that participate in their services. It is a tangible and practical demonstration that there are churches and people that support and care for them in their season of life.
Teen Challenge ($800)
Teen Challenge Canada operates faith-based in-residence treatment facilities for women and men struggling with drug or alcohol addiction dependency issues. They help men and women to overcome addictions by developing the whole person within the context of a residential facility.
Rose of Durham ($600)
Young parent support centre, grounded in faith. From the abundance of God’s love, called to serve young parents and their children. We’re partnering with their walk-through Christmas celebration at KSCC with take-home light refreshments!
Operation Christmas Child ($750)
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.
FIRM Israel ($3000)
Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries is a Christ-centred nonprofit based in Jerusalem that equips Christians and supports local ministries across Israel to share the love of Jesus through Gospel-centred ministries.
High school scholarships ($800)
Every year, we partner with our local high schools by awarding two scholarships to students who live out Christian values in their daily lives. These scholarships are a way for us to encourage and invest in the next generation of leaders who are making a difference in their communities.
Christmas Hampers ($1495)
Christmas can be a wonderful time of year, but for some families it can also bring extra financial pressure and a heavier load. Our Christmas Hampers are a small way of coming alongside families in our church and throughout our community, helping to ease some of that burden and bring a little extra joy to their Christmas season.
Bonita Abrams in Cuba ($3000)
Bonita Abrams serves the vulnerable church in Cuba. She mentors pastors and cares for elderly facing extreme food insecurity. Despite daily power outages, Bonita’s team cotinues outreach providing food to seniors, children, and single-parent families.
total goal = $17,945

Follow along with our Advent reading plan.
Join us as we journey through the Advent season together with the scripture reading plan: My Advent Journey. Each day, we’ll dive into scripture, reflecting on the hope, peace, joy, and love that Christ brings. In the midst of busy holiday preparations, take a few moments to connect with God’s word and follow along with the rest of our church family.
Thank you for giving to our Christmas at King Initiatives to support those in the Durham Region and around the world. All funds contributed over and above the $17,945 target will go toward other underfunded Global and Local Board-Approved projects in our 2026 Global and Local Outreach budgets.
