If you are looking for a balanced prayer life, you may want to try the ACTS Prayer Model.

The ACTS Prayer Model basically takes you on a daily journey of praising God for who he is, confessing the bad things [sins] in our life, thanking him for the good things, and bring request to God. So give this model a try and see if you enhance your prayer life and grow closer to God.

A is for ADORATION - Adoration means worshiping God, telling God the good things about him, describing who he is to you, and praising him for the wonderful God that he is. Its important that you start with Adoration because that helps build love for God and builds your faith before you move on to the more personal parts of prayer.

C is for CONFESSION - Confession is something you need to do daily. By confessing the bad things [sins] in your life, you experience the freeing sense of being forgiven and it helps you remember that you need God and his free gift of forgiveness. Take some times to listen to God and see if he drops some thoughts or ideas about what you can confess to him.

T is for THANKSGIVING - Thanksgiving is our way of recognizing and thanking God for the good things we experience in life. A lot of us have been blessed with homes, food, parents, school, clothes, and all sorts of other things. By thanking God for those things, it reminds us that God takes care of us and in fact, looks out for us

S is for SUPPLICATION - Supplications are the requests that we bring to God. Often this is what we think of when we think of prayer. But requests are just one part of our prayer life. It's important to listen to God because he may drop some things on your heart to pray about. When we begin with Adoration, Confession, and Thanksgiving, it's a lot easier to believe that God answers prayer

So try out this prayer model and let us know how it works for you...
