Welcome to King Street Church
We all have expectations of life. We project onto others are expectations - our children, spouse, friends, co-workers, neighbors and politicians. The two things we can’t avoid in life are expectations and disappointment. The moment we have an expectation, we set ourselves up for disappointment. We know this to be true, because we disappoint others as well.
Each of us has expectations of God. We are sometimes consciously aware of them and we are even quick to articulate them to others. Often, the expectations we have of God, lay under the surface of our conscious mind - but are just as real. We find ourselves experiencing disappointment from God too. The disappointment we experience from God is always linked to faulty expectations.
I hope you will consider coming to a series of messages that are part of an upcoming teaching series - Great Expectations: Familiar Words for Unfamiliar Times. Our world is facing some very unusual times and Psalm 23 is well-known to many people - it gains it’s most common hearing in comfort of the grieving. But it was intended to not just provide comfort for the grieving, but help for the living.
Beginning Sunday September 28th - October 19th, we will explore our expectations of God and life and find ourselves making some adjustments along the way.
Consider yourself invited to join us.
Much peace and grace,
Dave Larmour
