Missions' News from around the World

Wednesday - Dog Pile

Nothing speaks of love like a massive 50 kid dog pile…

Today was one of those highlight days. The main highlight which I’m sure will be etched in our team’s memory for a long time was our assembly at St. Joseph’s Primary School. We arrived as normal greeted by the 150 kids eager and excited to begin the assembly. The presentation itself was excellent and well received. But the highlight came after the presentation.

Following a delicious lunch that the school provided for us, we were released to venture into the playground and play with all the children during their lunch break. Nothing stands out to me more than watching what seemed to be an endless amount of kids chasing Andrew, catching him, and then jumping on top of him, creating a massive dog pile. It was a sight to be seen!

The love that these children radiate is contagious. It seems like we experience an endless wave of unconditional love every time we step foot into a school. And every time we choose to engage with the kids, give high fives, and kick a soccer ball around, that love seems to grow and grow, more and more.

And while Andrew may have gotten up from that Dog Pile with a couple newly formed bruises, his face beamed brightly and you knew he had experienced a genuine form of love.

Yours to seeing love be spread around in a variety of creative and meaningful ways.

Missions Philosophy

Our philosophy of missions here at King Street Church is based on the biblical model found in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
