Missions' News from around the World

Saturday… Football Day

Church family outreach (more photos on Flickr)

Greetings from the Charisma Cafe in Zvolen, Slovakia. Well, our trip is quickly wrapping up and we've had such an incredible time here in Slovakia. Today we had the opportunity to sleep in and catch up on some lost sleep. It was nice to get a couple extra hours of sleep. We ventured over to a local park at 10 am to begin our church family and outreach gathering. It was a great time. Half of our team stayed with kids as they played with beach balls, skipping ropes, and frisbees, while the other half joined the men in an intense game of football. Can I just say that those guys kick really hard. At one point Matt Kelly was playing goalie and I thought one of the guys was going to decapitate his head. If Matt had been a little taller, I'm sure we'd be standing over him as he wakes up reminding him that he's in Slovakia. But it was a great game and we learned that we should stick to what we're good at... Hockey. A few people from the community came out and I know it was a great connecting time between Pastor Cyril's church and those people. We saw many meaningful conversations happening between people from the community and people from the church. It was cool!!! Tomorrow, our team is ministering in two churches and then hiking a total of 12 km (there and back) to some castle ruins that are pretty famous in Zvolen. Pastor Cyril says that the photos that we can take at these ruins are incredible. I know it will be a great way to spend our last day in Zvolen before we head out to spend a full day in Bratislava (the capital city). Please pray as we work out a few last minutes details for our ministry in church tomorrow. Prayer that we would finish our ministry well. Love and peace, Pastor Josh & Team

Missions Philosophy

Our philosophy of missions here at King Street Church is based on the biblical model found in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
