Missions' News from around the World

Monday in a Coffee Shop

Pastor Josh with Pastor Otto in the Charisma Cafe

Greetings from the Charisma Cafe in Zvolen, Slovakia. Well, I'm currently sitting on IKEA furniture, in a downtown Slovak coffee shop, drinking a nice cup of Carmel Hot Chocolate while enjoying conversation with half of our team and a local church planter named Otto. It's has been a great experience thus far for our team and we know God has a lot of great things in store for the remainder of the week. Yesterday, I took a few team members with me to a nearby town called Lucenec to preach and give testimonies with our new friend Pastor Otto while the rest of our team stayed and served in the local church in Zvolen. It was an excellent day; not to mention the excellent food that both groups had for lunch. We spent the afternoon touring the Zvolen Castle and taking lots of pictures. This morning, we woke up bright and early and journeyed a half hour to the local community centre to begin our week of Gypsy Camp. It was amazing to see the look of excitement on the 25 Gypsy kids faces as we walked into the room. They are extremely friendly and it seems like we had a very positive influence on them. After teaching them Dodgeball, telling them the David and Goliath Story, making bracelets, and talking about Canadian Animals, they taught us how to play football (A.K.A. Soccer). Overall, it was great day and we are looking forward to our remaining time with them this week. Please continue to pray for our team!!! Our team is very well prepared which has enabled us to do some additional practical ministry while we are here. We have come to serve the local church in Zvolen and now also the local church in Lucenec. We hope to bless them and encourage them in whatever way we can while we here. They have already blessed us enormously with their kindness and generosity. Much peace and love, Pastor Josh & Team

Missions Philosophy

Our philosophy of missions here at King Street Church is based on the biblical model found in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
