Missions' News from around the World
Czech Republic – Thursday, February 11th
This morning I had the privilege of spending the bulk of my morning with a pastor named Jarek. Jarek is ;our; church planter here in the Czech Republic. Specifically, King Street Church helps fund Jarek and his family as they begin a new work in the city of Novy Jicin. I wish you could all meet Jarek! He loves the Lord with his whole heart and he is a skilled musician who is able to play a variety of instruments. Presently this pastor and his wife have started by hosting a small group in their apartment. So far a handful of youth and young adults have accepted the Lord and meet with he and his wife on a weekly basis. They are praying towards launching a weekly worship gathering in late May, soon after our prayer team visits this region. He told me this morning that he believes the prayer team is coming at a strategic time as they prepare to officially open one of the only evangelical churches in the entire region. Let;s pray that God continues to grant this pastor favor in the new city that he and his family have relocated to. Let;s also pray that God provides a job for him as well; financially they are limited in what they can do. Being a skilled musician he is in the process of applying with the local schools to be a music teacher.
Another highlight of my day was to spend the afternoon with a couple of other Czech pastors. They granted me the opportunity to walk over the bridge into the country of Poland! Wow&;we simply walked over a bridge without any questions into another country. What makes this amazing is that years ago that line of seperation was fought over&;and many men were killed in battle. Today it is a bridge with people walking to and fro without any division or violence. It was refreshing to hear the Czech pastors speak highly of their neighbors in Poland&;no bitterness or hatred but only words of edification and care. I think there is a lesson to all this. God can change human hearts and difficult situations. For some, change doesn;t come easy&;but whether we like it or not life will be a journey of constant change. May we embrace the different seasons of life – who knows – maybe God is behind the change, and the change may in fact bring a greater sense of His peace and presence!

Missions Philosophy
Our philosophy of missions here at King Street Church is based on the biblical model found in Acts 1:8. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
