ROOTS: Rediscovering the spirit of the Church

We believe that the world can be a better place when followers of Jesus live the way we were called to live! Jesus told his first friends; "As the Father has sent me, I am now sending you" (John 20:21). How did Jesus come? What was he sent to do? Where did he place his priorities? Why the stable and the cross? There is a growing movement of churches that are commiting themselves to learning from Jesus and spending their lives to make this world a better place. I love the promise of Scripture that declares; "God is making everything new!" He is using a whole host of sons and daughter's of God to see it happen ... and it's beautiful! At King Street Church, we are spending most of 2010 exploring an Ancient Text called 'Acts' as found in the Bible. We are aiming to read this ancient text with fresh eyes and we are asking the Father to make the mission and mandate of Jesus clear again in our hearts so that we can do his work and share his words in a way that will make all things new - including this world that God loves so much.
